Lydia has been CAER Programme Manager since July 2024, but has worked within CAER since 2020 when she completed her PhD. Lydia’s research interests include bilingualism, ambiguity, figurative language, pragmatics, language impairments, and the impact of socio-economic status on language. She is particularly interested in how children’s linguistic experience and proficiency can impact their cognitive development, academic attainment, and later life success.
Lydia is part of a cohort study herself and has been involved in the ‘Children of the 90s’ (ALSPAC) since birth!
